In computer networking, 802.11 performance anomaly refers to the effect where one slow-rate station on a shared 802.11 network drags down the throughput of all faster stations to near its own level. This meaning comes from Heusse (2003) in IEEE INFOCOM 2003. Twenty-second Annual Joint Conference of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37428).[1]
