In catalysis, electron-transfer chain catalysis refers to a chain process in which a single electron transfer starts a cycle where the substrate's radical ion reacts and passes an electron on to the next substrate. This meaning comes from Chanon (1982) in Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English.[1]
