In Indigenous religions, other-than-human persons refers to a term used by Hallowell, from Ojibwa ontology, for beings such as animals, winds and stones that are treated as persons in social relations. This meaning comes from Hallowell (1976) in Contributions to anthropology: selected papers of A. Irving Hallowell.[1]
