In corrosion science, Wagner internal oxidation criterion refers to condition on solute content and diffusivities at which an alloy changes from internal oxidation to forming a continuous external oxide scale. This meaning comes from Wagner (1959) in Zeitschrift für Elektrochemie, Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie.[1]
