One name. One construct. A landmark on the map.
● anchor · a standalone construct Nearest construct by meaningruncompare the meaningsEvery construct on the map is compared with every other by the meaning of its definitions, and the closest one is surfaced here. The nearest construct to batch is run.
Hold this as a prompt, not a verdict. Two constructs sitting close in meaning is a reason to read them side by side and decide for yourself whether they are one idea under two names. It is not proof that they are. Compare the meanings in the Collider.
A single standalone construct; nearby constructs are located against it in the Collider. Tap a field for its definition, unit, and measures.
In genomics and other high-throughput measurement, a batch is a group of samples processed together, on the same day, machine, or reagent lot, and a batch effect is the systematic technical variation this shared processing introduces into the data. Johnson, Li, and Rabinovic's 2007 Adjusting batch effects in microarray expression data using empirical Bayes methods introduced the ComBat method to estimate and remove this variation, and Leek and colleagues' 2010 Tackling the widespread and critical impact of batch effects in high-throughput data showed how often it distorts biological conclusions. The referent is a nuisance grouping of measurements and the bias it carries, not a manufacturing run or a set of training examples.[1][2]
