Hold this as a prompt, not a verdict. Two constructs sitting close in meaning is a reason to read them side by side and decide for yourself whether they are one idea under two names. It is not proof that they are. Compare the meanings in the Collider.

A person's focused, alert, and exploratory way of engaging with one particular information technology while using it: the mindful user attends to the tool in the moment, stays open to new features and uses, and adapts rather than running on habit. Thatcher, Wright, Sun, Zagenczyk, and Klein's 2018 Mindfulness in Information Technology Use defined it as a state directed at a specific system and built a measure of it, deliberately setting it apart from the general trait studied in psychology. The referent is a user's engagement with a given piece of software, tied to that technology, and it is not a present-moment mental trait, an organization's alertness to failure, or an ancient contemplative practice.[1]
